History of the Carlton Male Voice Choir

The men of the Choir met for the sheer joy of singing in a suburb of Nottingham; they were soon giving concerts to entertain and support an incredible range of deserving causes.
In these two respects, not much has changed! From humble beginnings, membership flourished in spite, or perhaps because, of adversity faced in those early days. The immediate post second world war years were more problematic with numbers falling to around 20 in the face of developing entertainment media and changing lifestyles.
