Come 12th
October we'll be back at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall for a
Centenary Celebration Concert and we will be at the Royal Centre,
the scene of many great nights in the Bob Davies era, with the
first Carlton Concert in the Concert Hall since 1994.
Most of the Choir has performed there at some point and will agree
that it is both a joy and a privilege to sing from that stage.
Appearing alongside us as our main guest will be Rebecca
Evans. Unless you are a fairly serious classical music
follower you may not have heard of Rebecca, so a brief biography
can be found here>>>- her credentials speak for themselves.
Also joining us will be Nottingham-based Magdala
Opera, which has built up a large following and growing
reputation through its concert work.
Proceeds from the Concert will go to
D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance
Education) U.K.
which for twenty-three years has carried out vital work educating
children about the consequences of drug misuse, providing them
with the means to resist temptation and mobilising the support
of the community. Mike Curtis has worked hard on sponsorship to
support the staging of the concert.
Please contact him if you think you can help in this area
(or email from the Website).
With this concert we are targeting a record amount for the charity.
This is an ambitious venture and the Choir is going to pull out
all the stops to make sure it is an evening to remember.
