There
will be a Christmas concert with Carols presented by Carlton
Male Voice Choir
at
St. John the Baptist Parish Church
on Saturday 16th December 2006.
- Rick
Morrish, the Choir's deputy chairman, said he was delighted
to be returning to Beeston after the very successful concert
last year. In the first half the Choir will sing eight songs
from their normal repertoire beginning with the rousing Welsh
hymn, Cwm Rhondda.
- The
varied programme will include the gently lyrical love songs,
Let it be me and The water of Tyne finishing
with the rousing, American Trilogy. The second half
of the concert will feature the Choir's Christmas programme.
- Directed
by Terry
Moore and accompanied by
Roger Holland, they will sing a variety of carols
with many favourites including the Alan Simmons' slow and
gentle arrangement of, When a child is born and the
gradual crescendo of the announcement of Jesus' birth in,
Do you hear what I hear.
Deck the hall with boughs of holly, a new carol for 2006,
will introduce the last part of the concert and the choir
will end with the universal plea,
Let there be peace on earth. Soloists from the choir will
complete the programme and the audience will be invited to
join in well known carols.
- The
concert starts at 7.30pm.
- Tickets
at £5.50, which includes a glass of wine/fruit juice and a
